I bring 24 years of experience in law enforcement across the military/federal, state, county, and city levels. Throughout my career, I have served in a wide range of leadership and operational roles, including Chief of Police, Captain, Sergeant, Investigator, Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff, and Special Officer. I hold a master’s degree in public safety administration and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
In 2025, I was appointed by the Governor of Utah to serve on the state licensing board for plumbers and electricians, where I contributed to regulatory oversight and professional standards. I have also been an active member of several civic and professional organizations, including the local Elks Lodge, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
In addition to my public safety career, I launched the Move Forward with Matthew Campisi podcast in 2025. The show features thoughtful discussions on a variety of issues and is available on Spotify and other major streaming platforms.
My personal journey has not been without challenges. I have experienced difficult moments, including a contentious first divorce involving complex family matters. A protective order filed during that time was dismissed and ultimately dropped, and I have no history of domestic abuse. I remain committed to fulfilling my responsibilities as a parent, including consistently meeting child support obligations. These experiences—while difficult—have shaped me into someone who values resilience, accountability, and personal growth. Through faith, perseverance, and reflection, I have become stronger and more grounded.
I believe deeply in service, integrity, and contributing positively to the community. My professional background, life experiences, and commitment to continuous improvement guide everything I do.
